Thai Dragon pots (Ohng Mungkorn) are traditional, durable glazed stoneware featuring hand sculptured, raised dragon motifs. Traditionally used for storing rainwater, these versatile pots now commonly serve as decorative garden planters for trees, bamboo or lotus plants.
CULTURAL SYMBOLISM: Dragons in Thai-Chinese culture represent protection, good luck and prosperity.
ORIGIN: Most famous pots originate from Ratchaburi, Thailand where the craft began more than 150 years ago.
CRAFTMANSHIP: Hand formed and decorated, featuring a distinctive, often green or brown glaze, these pots are high fired in large Kilns up to 1200deg C.
